Tuchel reacts to Brentford win

The early-season impetus built up by Chelsea has faded away in recent weeks.

In the Premier League, the European champions have won just one of their last four matches and they face another big test on Boxing Day when they visit Aston Villa.

With the squad struggling with Covid-19 and injuries, for manager Thomas Tuchel the January transfer window could provide a welcome jolt of momentum.

Unsurprisingly, the Blues have been mentioned in a number of gossip columns in relation to incoming and outgoing players.

Mirror Sport has all of the latest Chelsea transfer buzz.

Would Tchouameni be the perfect midfield signing for Chelsea? Let us know in the comments below!

Tchouameni is one of the most exciting prospects in France.

Chelsea want Tchouameni in January

According to Eurosport, Chelsea will try to strike a deal with Monaco for the signing of Aurelien Tchouameni in January.

In the report, it’s said that even if the Blues cannot convince the principality club to part ways with the French international mid-season, they will look to agree a fee in early 2022 with a view to a summer move.

It’s added that Chelsea expect one of N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic or Jorginho to leave in the next year, meaning there is potentially going to be a gap to fill in the heart of the team.

The 21-year-old Frenchman is rated as one of the best midfield prospects in European football and has been excellent for Monaco in Ligue 1 this season.

Rudiger’s ‘perfect’ club identified

Paul Parker believes Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger would be a “perfect” signing for Manchester United.

Rudiger has kicked on under Tuchel to become one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League, but his future is uncertain at Stamford Bridge.

The German international’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and a number of Europe’s biggest clubs have been mentioned as possible suitors for the defender. United are one of those and Parker thinks he’d be a fine acquisition.

“He actually shouts and screams, bosses people about, dictates the people,” he said, per Betting Expert (h/t Metro). “When people aren’t doing it, he tells them because he doesn’t make that many mistakes himself. He keeps things simple. He’d be absolutely perfect.”

Real to Rival Blues for Kounde

Speaking on the Transfer Window podcast (h/t the Express), journalist Duncan Castles has said Real Madrid are the latest club to show an interest in Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.

Chelsea were strongly linked with a move for the France international in the summer, although they were unable to strike a deal with the Andalusian club.

Since then, Manchester United have also been linked with Kounde and Castle has said Los Blancos are considering the player too.

“During the last transfer window, there was also interest in the player from Real Madrid and a degree of interest from Manchester United,” he said of Kounde. “So there is pressure on Chelsea here.”
