Arsenal’s clash with Wolves has been called off as Covid-19 continues to ravage the Premier League.

The Wolves camp has been hit hard by the coronavirus and injuries over the festive period, with the club making a request to the Premier League for the Gunners game to be postponed.

The Premier League announced the match had been called off on Sunday, in a statement reading: “The Premier League Board accepted the postponement application as Wolverhampton Wanderers does not have the required number of players available for the match (13 outfield players and one goalkeeper) as a result of a number of Covid-19 cases and injuries at the club.”

Wolves also confirmed the news on social media, tweeting: “Our trip to Arsenal on Tuesday 28th December has been postponed, with Bruno Lage having an insufficient number of players available to fulfil the fixture.”

This is the second match in the space of a few days that has been called off involving Wolves after their clash with Watford was postponed on Boxing Day due to Covid cases within the Hornets camp.
