Police ordered residents to stay in their homes after armed officers descended on a street.
Dorset Police officers equipped with large rifles were seen patrolling a road in Westbourne this morning.
Residents, ordered to stay inside by the police, peered out from their homes at the action unfolding on the street, Dorset Live reported.
At least four police vehicles were spotted in Seamoor Road in the Dorset town, blocking off the entrance to another road.
Police were first reported in the street at about 9am, with the road blocked off to vehicles.

Officers were seen leaving the scene at about 9.30am.
