Ferran Torres may be about to seal his big move to Barcelona but reports have suggested the Catalan giants have another Man City star on their radar.
Torres could be announced as new manager Xavi’s second signing after Dani Alves returned to the club ahead of next month’s January transfer window.
It comes amid reports that City could return with another offer for Tottenham Hotspur captain Harry Kane following their failed attempts to sign the striker last summer.
And they could also swoop for a young full-back who has been impressing in Italy’s Serie A.

Manchester City have joined the race to sign Bologna’s Scottish defender Aaron Hickey, it has been reported.
According to Calciomercato, City could target the full-back next summer with his current club set to “achieve a significant capital gain at the end of the season” from his sale.
The report adds that Celtic and Burnley are also keen on the 19-year-old, while AC Milan could also move to take him to the San Siro.
Harry Kane offer
City are considering making another move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, according to Eurosport.
Pep Guardiola’s side failed with an offer for the England captain last summer as Spurs chairman Daniel Levy refused to lower his demands.
The City boss admitted earlier this season that the club “want to try to sign him”, but added any deal would “depend on Tottenham”.
And according to the latest report, City “are looking into how they reinvent the front line” and are also considering Erling Haaland and Alvaro Odriozola as alternative options.
Barcelona plan second City move
New Barcelona boss Xavi wants to sign Manchester City star Phil Foden, it has been reported.
Xavi has prioritised bringing in Ferran Torres after taking the job at Camp Nou with a deal for the Spanish winger now thought to be imminently announced.
And Spanish outlet El Nacional now reports Xavi sees Foden as the heir to his midfield partner during Barcelona’s golden era, Andres Iniesta.
The report states that City’s summer acquisition of Jack Grealish and continued hunt for a new striker have meant Foden has been pushed to the peripheries at the Etihad Stadium and this has “led him to think about his departure”.
Xavi is said to be a huge admirer of the England international and has asked Barca president Joan Laporta “to try until the end”, the report adds.
