Rebecca Ferguson has announced that she is engaged to partner Jonny Hughes.
The X Factor star, 35, revealed the news on Instagram, gushing that “dreams can come true”.
Sharing photos of herself with her boyfriend, she wrote: “I am So ‘Happy’ to announce I am engaged to the love of my life. Dreams can come true.”
Her friends and family flocked to Instagram to congratulate the singer, with Love Island star Olivia Bowen writing: “Congratulations angel!”
While fellow X Factor star Rowetta commented: “Congrats. Beautiful news.”
Lizzie Cundy added: “Wow !!! Huge congrats my darling !! So exciting.”
While another friend wrote: “Happy tears!! It couldn’t happen to a nicer Super woman!! Congratulations to you and Johnny!! (He did good).”
The happy news comes five years after Rebecca opened up about her struggle to trust men after being cruelly dumped by a cheating ex-boyfriend while she was pregnant with her third child.
Rebecca told her ex-boyfriend she was pregnant with her daughter Arabella just five months into their relationship and the man, who she did not name, ended the romance.
She told Closer magazine at the time: “It has broken my trust in men. I can’t date.”
“I haven’t dated in years. I’m a romantic and do still believe in love but, at the same time, I keep getting let down.”
Rebecca famously dated Zayn Malik at the height of his One Direction fame in 2011, but he later branded their romance a “mistake”.
Rebecca and Zayn also received heavy criticism for their six-year age gap, but it didn’t stop them from having a brief fling.
It’s reported that they split due to focusing on their careers, with Rebecca previously telling Sunday Mirror: “I’m happy I’ve decided to be single – my children, my family and my career are now my world.”
She admitted she had to pay his way a lot, despite the star now being a millionaire after 1D’s incredible success.
She also shares two children, Lillie May and Karl, with her ex Karl Dures.
