Manchester United’s first match of 2022 will be a tricky encounter against Wolves.
Ralf Rangnick’s side recovered some of their mojo in their 3-1 home victory against Burnley, but there are still plenty of questions to be asked of this United team.
The Red Devils’ has previously registered a limp and fortuitous 1-1 away draw to Newcastle United, leaving supporters with plenty of fury and very little Christmas spirit.
Nevertheless, Rangnick’s start to life as interim manager has been steady if not electrifying.
However, with the former RB Leipzig manager reportedly being promised a £100m war chest to spend this month,Mirror Football considers the three latest rumours encapsulating Old Trafford.

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson could reportedly depart the club and search for first-team football, according to reports.

However, the Spaniard’s resurgence this season has limited him to one League Cup and one Champions League appearance all season.
And journalist Pete O’Rourke believes the 25-year-old could very well seek pastures new in a bid to get more first team minutes.
Henderson has been linked with a move to Tottenham, who were courting the former Sheffield United loanee, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Alvarez agent heading for Manchester
River Plate and Argentina hitman Julian Alvarez’s agent is reportedly on his way to Manchester to discuss a possible move to United.
Alvarez enjoyed a sensational season for the Argentinean giants, scoring 20 goals in 35 appearances in the Argentine Primera Division.
The 21-year-old is considered one of the brightest young talents to emerge from South America in recent seasons.
And South American journalist Roberto Rojas claimed his agent will hold meetings in Manchester, London, Madrid, and Milan to discuss potential destinations for the striker.
Bayern Munich are also believed to be interested in the promising striker, who can also operate on the wings.
Alvarez is also believed to have a release clause of around £17m, if a club was to buy him out of his current deal with River Plate.
Laird to be recalled
Promising Manchester United full-back Ethan Laird will be recalled from his loan spell with Swansea City, according to reports.
Laird is one of the brightest prospects to emerge from the United academy, having impressed on loan with Russell Martin’s side this season.
Martin has been playing a fine tune with the 20-year-old, having also taken him to League One side MK Dons last season.
However, Laird will reportedly be recalled by United so he can be sent on loan to Championship table toppers AFC Bournemouth, according to the Telegraph.
Scott Parker’s side are currently sitting pretty, having amassed a three-point lead over second-placed Blackburn Rovers.
Laid has already made 20 appearances for Swansea this season, contributing three assists from right-back.
