Bradley Walsh appeared to get the shock of his life this evening after discovering that he had been replaced as host on The Chase.
Before any fans of the host or ITV quiz show begin to panic, it didn’t take Bradley too long to kick the surprise host off the show and return back to his rightful place.
Viewers watching this evening’s episode were perplexed when they switched on The Chase to find comedian Joe Pasquale hosting the show.
Making a dig at Bradley, Joe said: “Hello, and welcome to The Chase. I’m Bradley Walsh, TV’s luckiest man. And once again, I’ll be asking questions I can barely read – let alone understand.”
However, Bradley was heard shouting “cut” before he demanded that security chase out his replacement.
Joe ran off, leaving fans in hysterics as it was used as the opener for spin-off The Chase Bloopers, as Bradley looked back at past episodes.
Sitting at the control room, Bradley said: “Yes, it’s me, the real Brad. And I’m not really the director – they only let me sit in the chair if I promise not to touch anything.”
It comes after Chaser Paul Sinha was forced to apologise to “one of the best players” the gameshow has ever seen.
Contestant Lindsay gave Paul a run for his money, leaving him so impressed by the 65-year-olds performance.
In Wednesday’s episode of the show, the former GP from Scotland dominated as he got nearly every question right in the final round.
He was guided to the final by host Bradley Walsh and was applauded by fans as he single-handily led his team, securing the most money and points.
Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: “Lindsay is an absolute machine – one of the best contestants ever on The Chase.”
“Wow! It’s The Chase versus Lindsay. He absolutely smashed it and should be so proud,” a second penned.
And Paul was left gobsmacked by the contestant, telling him: “Lindsay, know whatever happens, now you are, undoubtedly, one of the best final chase players I have ever played.”
