Catherine Tyldesley enjoyed a trip to the Welsh countryside with her husband Tom Pitfield and their son Alfie

Catherine Tyldesley gave fans a glimpse of the luxurious rural Welsh retreat she celebrated New Year’s Eve.

The former Coronation Street star, who is currently pregnant with her second child, enjoyed quality time with her husband Tom Pitfield and their six-year-old son Alfie.

Posing in front of a roaring fire, the 38-year old showed off her blossoming bump as she wore a fitted grey jumper that tied just above her bump with a bow.

The family’s accommodation was in Rhiw, a little village in the south west tip of the Llŷn Peninsula in Gwynedd in Wales.

Spectacular views of rolling hills could be seen through the huge glass by-folding doors of the cottage.

“I took so many tests as I was convinced I wasn’t actually pregnant, but in fact my body was just mimicking a pregnancy.

“So this time, even when my stomach was a bit swollen, I just thought: ‘Oh hormonal imbalances again.'”

Although the actress was initially worried that her pregnancy was the early menopause as she was hit by night sweats.

She said: “I was having terrible insomnia, which is still with me. I was so hot at night and unable to control my temperature. I started to panic that perhaps I was perimenopausal. I know I would have been a bit young, but it does happen.”
