For two years he “rested” at the Amici del Po nautical center at Becca, in the Municipality of Linarolo. Now the motor ship “Le due rive”, owned by the Province of Pavia, will return to play its tourist role, plowing the waters of the blue river, thanks to the agreement between the body of Piazza Italia and a private individual, Marco Destro, with the second who will be fully responsible for the management of the service and maintenance of the vessel.
The motor ship is eleven meters long and can carry up to 45 passengers, in addition to the crew. In the past, piazza Italia had used it for tourist purposes, but then the “Due Rive” ran out of water and, also due to the pandemic, was left entrusted to the ground storage service. Now the Province has made a notice for the expression of interest, to know, that is, if there was anyone interested in putting the ship back into the water. And the positive response of an entrepreneur has arrived. The formula provides that the Province entrusts the boat to the private individual on a “free loan” (on loan) for five years and that the manager undertakes, obviously retaining for himself the proceeds of the tourist activity, for maintenance and management. The boat, therefore, can be used for “tourist / cultural trips, including excursions with e-bikes, aperitifs at sunset, musical evenings on board”.
In exchange, the private individual undertakes to replace the sunshade, carry out painting, maintenance, support the cost of fuel and insurance and more. The resumption of service, therefore, is conditioned by this series of interventions. Then you can go back to sailing on the river, perhaps taking advantage of the improvements provided by the municipal Waterfront plan. –
