From ex-fiancé killer to court: Who are you, where is this place?

In Ankara, it was decided to report for the mental health of the accused who killed his ex-fiancee with whom he had an argument.

In the incident that took place in the district of Mamak on December 4, 2020, Fatih Alşan (41) killed Yasemin Aydın (41), whom he had met to talk to, by shooting 3 times with a pistol during the discussion. Alşan, who took Aydın’s lifeless body to Sakarya by car and threw it to the side of the road, was detained and arrested.

“WHO ARE YOU, WHERE IS THIS?” HE ASKED

Alşan appeared before the judge in the case filed with the demand for aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of “deliberate killing”. The lawyers of the parties also attended the hearing at the Ankara 1st High Criminal Court. Defendant Alşan asked the court, “Who are you, where is this place?”

The complainant’s lawyer also demanded that the accused is mentally stable and should be punished at the highest limit. Announcing the interim decision after the statement of the defendant’s lawyer, the court ruled that a report be taken from the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute on whether Alşan was in good mental health or not, and decided to continue his detention.

The hearing was adjourned.
