“I THINK IT WILL BE A NATIONAL SUBMARINE IN 3-4 YEARS”
Noting that they have achieved significant successes in the modernization of submarines together with ASELSAN, BİLGEM and STM, Mantar stated that they changed the war management and command control systems of the submarines in use, and renewed their sensors and electronics.
Noting that Turkey has now reached the competence to build its own submarine, Mantar said that progress will be made rapidly in this regard.
Stating that HAVELSAN has also proven its competence in unmanned land vehicles with Barkan, Mantar continued his words as follows:
“We have given a few Barkans to the Turkish Armed Forces. Our attempts to sell Barkan abroad continue in Malaysia, Indonesia, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Ukraine and Azerbaijan. Barkan took the field 5-6 months ago, Now it has started to be used in Turkey, and we are still negotiating for its sale abroad.”
