The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry shared information on the latest situation in the number of registered pets. According to the statement made by the Ministry, a total of 1 million 429 thousand 370 pets, 855 thousand 105 cats, 574 thousand 240 dogs and 25 ferrets, have been identified and registered since January 1, 2021.
In accordance with the Animal Protection Law and the Regulation on the Identification and Registration of Cats, Dogs and Ferrets, the deadline for pet owners to identify their animals and register them in the PetVet Registration System (PETVET) expired yesterday.
If pet owners have applied with a “declaration” to the provincial/district directorates of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry until 31 December 2022, the microchip application and registration process can be completed without any penal action in the following period.
