37 injured during New Year’s Eve celebrations in Pakistan
According to national media reports, fireworks displays were held in various parts of Karachi during New Year’s celebrations and gunfire was fired into the air.
37 PEOPLE INJURED, INCLUDING WOMEN AND BABIES
As a result of gunfire during the celebrations, 34 people were hit by bullets, and 3 people were injured by fireworks. Authorities stated that 4 of the 37 injured people were women and 2 were babies, and that the injuries were not life-threatening.
Launching an investigation into the incident, the police detained 34 people.
