Camel Wrestling Festival was held in İncirliova district of Aydın.
230 camels brought from the surrounding provinces were wrestled at the festival held in the arena in Istiklal District with the organization of Incirliova Municipality and Incirliova Camel Culture and Camel Wrestling Association. Many people, including AK Party Aydın Deputy Rıza Posacı and Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu, watched the wrestling.
THE DRUM WAS NOT PLAYED
In the festival, drums and horns were not played because 7 people lost their lives as a result of the explosion of the tube in the restaurant in Nazilli district on 30 December. In his speech here, İncirliova Mayor Aytekin Kaya expressed his satisfaction with organizing the first camel wrestling events of 2023.
Kaya offered his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the incident in Nazilli, saying, “We did not let the drums and horns play because of those who passed away. We canceled the entertainment part. May God have mercy on those who lost their lives and our martyrs.”
TROUBLES GIVEN IN 15 CATEGORIES
Kaya also expressed his condolences to the relatives of Commissioner Ekrem Uyar, who was martyred in a traffic accident in Muğla yesterday and was buried in his hometown, Çine. Kaya also followed the wrestling of his camel named “Teke Yoruk” in the field.
Trophies were given to the owners of the camels that ranked high in the races held in 15 categories in wrestling, by the members of the protocol.
