Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality’s book reading competition concluded
An award ceremony was held for the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality’s book reading competition. The ceremony, organized by Kayseri Vocational Education and Culture Inc. (KAYMEK) with the slogan “Choose a Book, Read, Compete, Win” was held at Kadir Has Culture and Art Center. Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç also attended the ceremony.
Individuals between the ages of 18-40 applied for one, two or all three books of their choice. While 991 applications were received for Rasim Özdenören’s book “The Man Who Grows a Rose, 772 for Nazan Bekiroğlu’s “Pomegranate Tree”, 969 for Cengiz Aytmatov’s “The Day Happens Asra Price”, 2 thousand 732 applications were received for 3 books. As a result, 1433 people were entitled to participate in the competition by applying.
In the competition held over the Kahoot system, book lovers entered the application with their mobile phones and answered 10 questions consisting of 4 options about the determined book and the author of the book. Among the contestants who got the most correct answers in the fastest time, those who placed in the top three in each category were entitled to receive awards.
Bahriye Polat won the competition for the book “The Man Who Grows Roses”, Şeyma Herdem won the competition for the book “Pomegranate Tree”, and Elif Mete won the competition for the book “The Day Happens Asra Bedel”. The winners of the competition were awarded 3,000 TL, the second runners-up was awarded 2,000 TL, and the third runners-up was awarded a thousand TL.
