2022 inflation in Istanbul was 93 percent

According to the statement made by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), the Istanbul Wage Livelihood Index, which is an indicator of retail price movements, increased by 2.94 percent compared to the previous month, and the Wholesale Price Index, which reflects wholesale price movements, increased by 3.71 percent.

“The rate of change compared to the same month of the previous year”, which shows the price changes last month compared to December 2021, was 92.97 percent in the ITO 1995 based Wage Wage Index and 81.31 percent in the Wholesale Price Index.

In December, compared to the previous month in retail prices, 7.04 percent in health and personal care expenditures, 3.89 percent in household goods, 3.82 percent in housing expenditures, 3.07 percent in other expenditures, 3.06 percent in food expenditures, 1.18 percent in clothing expenditures, and 1.18 percent in culture, education and entertainment expenditures. 0.50 percent increase and a 3.09 percent decrease in the transportation and communication expenditures group.
